I apologize for coming through this door but I could not find your email ( the system seems to have lost our earlier communications re. my well-received 2019 featured Medium article "Can a 75 Year-Old Do Psychedelics?" I have just posted another piece in that framework "Can a 77 Year-Old Do Elective Surgery?" which I hope you will consider for a feature story for in Human Parts. It is important if for no other reason than Total Knee Replacements are the most common elective surgery (over 700,000 per year just in the US) but it's also an intimate and hopefully entertaining look at the process from the patient's point of view. It is also helpful without being didactic and there is even some humor! I used to write for WebMD (the sports medicine desk) and I can assert that this story is also factually accurate.
